July 3: I have been trying to ship packages yesterday afternoon and today, but there is some sudden bug on the USPS website that will not let me pay for and print shipping labels. This is in addition to the fact that USPS is not sending tracking numbers to anyone for the past several months. Of course no one will try to fix the acute problem until Monday, and I’m not optimistic that they will do anything even then despite the fact that they say they’ve “escalated” the problem, hopefully to someone competent. I’ve spent a day and a half on the phone with their so-called tech people, who are as puzzled as I am. We have tried every sort of troubleshooting possible to no avail. We will get your packages sent out as soon as we can! Thank you for your tolerance of the delays.

Order confirmations not sent to all customers
Lately it seems that many customers have not been receiving the automatically-generated order confirmations and/or the completed notifications when orders ship. This is a problem with coordination between the web hosting company and the WooCommerce interface. I cannot solve it myself, so am working with the hosting people to try to get things functioning normally again. It is unfortunate that every time some component is “updated”, other components of the system stop working.
The other issue is that USPS does not always send tracking info to customers as they should. They have been aware of this problem for months now, so I hope it can be fixed.
If you have submitted an order and receive nothing, you are always welcome to e-mail me at info@olympicorchids.com. I will confirm, check tracking, etc., but this takes time and slows down operations, causing delays in shipping.
In this over-automated world, everything slowly becomes less efficient.
MINIMUM PURCHASE AMOUNT FOR CANADIAN ORDERS
If you are a Canadian customer, shipping from the US to your destination is quite expensive, so all orders, including sample orders, must be at least $25.00 to cover the cost of international postage on a small package, and the extra packaging that is needed to allow shipments to be processed by whatever machinery USPS and Canada Post use for that purpose. Any order below that threshold will be cancelled.
NO FREE SHIPPING OF SINGLE 1 ML SAMPLES
I have had to delete my other post to this effect because it had suddenly started to attract a lot of spam. The bottom line is that domestic shipping of a single sample costs between $5-6, so the $3.00 cost of the sample does no even cover postage. I have arbitrarily decided on a $6.00 minimum purchase to at least cover the cost of postage. Singe sample orders will be refunded and cancelled.
